CultureWorks Arts & Culture Community Impact Grant, 2026-27
Opens Jan 21 2026 09:00 AM (EST)
Deadline Feb 12 2026 05:00 PM (EST)
Description

CultureWorks’ mission is to strengthen artists and arts and culture organizations to increase their impact in our region. We value diversity and inclusivity and believe everyone in our community should have access to arts and culture, as well as the opportunity to express their culture through the arts.

A major pillar of those efforts is the annual grants program. This year’s grant cycle is no different: We are seeking to fund artists and nonprofit organizations that share our vision for the region and who desire to use arts and culture to empower, engage, and uplift others in their community.

The CultureWorks Arts & Culture Community Impact Grant provides funding for artists and organizations that support arts and culture initiatives that will impact communities in the Richmond and Tri-Cities Region; specifically defined as, the cities of Richmond, Colonial Heights, Hopewell and Petersburg, along with the counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent, Powhatan, Prince George, Sussex, and the Town of Ashland.

Practicing artists of all disciplines (e.g., performing, visual, media, cultural, literary, etc.) are welcome to apply, as are non-profit organizations that are primarily focused on making arts and culture more accessible to the residents of our region.

Finalists can receive an award of up to $20,000, with award tiers of $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000 dollars. Applicants are encouraged to select an award amount aligned with the scope and scale of their project.
